"The low country culinary scene is also heating up with hot spots like the retro-chic Little Duck Diner for Asian-influenced Southern fare"

Keeping It Current

"I never once had a bad meal at Ele and I loved the feel of the fine dining establishment. I also knew that anything the owner's have touched, has turned to gold."

Little Duck Diner

"This modern take on a 1950s diner brings reinvented standards like fried chicken in a waffle cone, French toast and BBQ duck tacos, plus coffee, wine and local beer, to Downtown for brunch and dinner."

  • From homeless refugee to restaurant group owner and creator of top dining concepts in Savannah, her tourism journey began with the American dream and working in the food business as a teen.

  • The Ele and the Chef Restaurant Collection are at it again, introducing Savannah to another Asian inspired restaurant, Little Duck Diner. • Classy art deco–inspired decor channels the 1920s and sets the stage for a seafood-focused menu with Asian and Southern touches at this Historic District newcomer from local restaurateurs Sean and Ele Tran (Tangerine, Fire Street Food); vintage cocktails done right stoke the vibe, and an exceptional staff has comfy and happy diners vowing to go back often.
  • A glance at the menu appears to be everything you’d want a diner to be. Eggs, omelettes, biscuits, gravy, sausage, burgers and chicken fingers. There is also a definite “Ele and the Chef” touch to the offerings, including some noodle bowls, BBQ Duck Egg Rolls and a section for any of 9 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, ranging from a classic to a Smoked Salmon Grilled Cheese, Bacon and Egg Grilled Cheese or Duck.
    Eat it and Like it
  • Little Duck Diner is unlike anything that this restaurant collection has produced before; in fact, its approach is distinct in the Savannah food scene. This vintage diner, with its marquee reader board broadcasting milkshake flavors and bar stools cozying up to an open kitchen counter, evokes a 1950’s vibe.

  • Ele and Sean Tran’s restaurants have largely Asian menus, but each establishment feels unique and special. The couple certainly doesn’t shy away from a challenge, so maybe we should have expected The Vault to open suddenly, as it did Wednesday, in a move that surprised the neighborhood and maybe even some of the restaurant’s employees.
